Sundial pose or Parivrtta Surya Yantrasana is an intermediate seated posture, and can be a pretty intense shoulder, hip, hamstring and side body-opener that can be a little confusing to approach.
Before you get into this posture, I suggest warming up with five rounds of Sun Salutations and sufficiently stretching your hamstrings and hips, as well as your shoulders and side bodies. Tip: Revolved Head-To-Knee Pose is the perfect precursor to Sundial Pose.
