How would you like to have your own cozy, nature-inspired home in the countryside of sunny Thailand? Sounds like a dream, right? But for Steve Areen, 6 weeks and $9,000 was all he needed to make his dream dome home come true!
Yep, you read that right — $9,000. And if you don't factor in the furnishings and details, it all amounted to just $6,000. All construction materials were bought in Thailand, and the use of cement blocks and clay bricks ensured that the building process will be low-cost and time-efficient.
Oh and did we mention that Steve and his three-man team also managed to include a beautiful backyard lily pond and a wooden rooftop area?
The rooftop is absolutely perfect for when you just want to chill on a hammock, read, do yoga (!), drink beer, meditate…the list goes on!
Using materials such as wood, stones, bamboo and other natural accents and elements also helped keep the cost down, as well as maintain the earthy, all-natural vibe of the house.
Who needs a huge mansion when you can have a beautiful, relaxing, eco-friendly house that lets you enjoy and appreciate the beauty of nature?
Steve's beautiful home is also a good reminder that sometimes, you don't need a shitload of money to make your dreams come true. With help from friends and a streak of creativity and resourcefulness, you can create something you love and that fulfills your passion.
