As a Health Coach, I get the same question every day: "What can I make to eat or drink that is good for me and tastes sensational but doesn’t take a fortnight to prepare?"
Okay, the question sounds a little different for everyone, but you get the point.
Here are my favorite delicious and healthy recipes for breakfast, dessert, or maybe even a combination of both. I cut all processed sugar out of my diet three years ago and have found that eating real food like these recipes eliminated my sugar cravings.
If you don’t have time for fancy and elaborate meals, check out these three delicious ideas to satisfy your taste buds, wallet, and clock!
1. My Favorite Breakfast Protein Pancakes
- ½ banana
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1 or 2 spoonfuls gluten-free flour (optional) just to thicken things up a bit
Heat a pan with coconut oil. Blend mixture in Magic Bullet or blender. Pour batter and prepare it like pancakes. Top with blueberries, cinnamon, Lily’s chocolate chips (stevia-sweetened treats from Whole Foods), or whatever your heart fancies!
2. Avocado-Kale Smoothie
- 1 ½ cups dairy free milk
- ½ avocado
- 1 cup kale
- 1 cup frozen berries
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- 5 drops vanilla extract (optional)
Measure and chop your ingredients, blend, and sip!
3. Raw Avocado Pudding
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup dairy free milk (I like unsweetened coconut milk)
- 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1 tablespoons raw honey
- 1 dash cinnamon
Magic Bullet blend all ingredients until smooth. Put into refrigerator until it's cold (perfect to do before you shower so it’s nice and cold when you get out). Spoon in the delicious mouthfuls and smile!
There ya have it, so no more excuses for not eating healthy! These are quick ideas to get you chock-full of nutrition that don't taste like chalk. Enjoy!
