5 Tips to Tighten Up the Body You Were Given

Happiness | Lifestyle

Have you had weight loss goals or body transformation goals for more than a year and nothing has changed? Are you going to yoga with that as your only form of exercise? If so, this might be the culprit stopping your body from transforming.

Our bodies get used to moving the same way if we are doing the same thing over and over. If you are practicing yoga and not doing anything else, like walking or weight training, or you’re not managing your nutrition, do not expect results.

Your body is a reflection of what you are. If you want to look healthy, you will have to be healthy. If you want body results, or if you are looking for a way to change up your routine, try adding these moves into your daily routine.

1. Squats

You can do these with a wide or narrow distance between your feet. Driving downward through your heels, lower, then press up to standing. When it starts getting easy, add more reps or start adding weights.

Squats are so amazing for your legs and butt—and I’ve found that doing them regularly has strengthened my ankles and feet.

2. Walking Lunges

I like to start on one side of the room and walk to the other. I do a couple of rounds and then reverse, so I start walking backwards first. Again, switch it up when it starts to feel like a cakewalk. Or you can lunge and twist to the side in the direction of the foot that is forward.

3. Plank Walk-Outs

Start standing up tall, roll down, and walk your hands out to plank pose, hold for 30 seconds. Then, walk the hands towards the feet, bend your knees, and roll up. Try 10, then increase.

4. Walk

Walk for 30 minutes every day, changing the speed and varying the incline. You can increase the amount of time when you are ready, but hit that nature walk for more than a better bod!

5. Weights

I love Booty Barre. In Booty Barre, you use 2 to 5-pound dumbbells and work every part of the arm. You get these sleek, toned arm muscles—and the class flies by!

I should mention that feedback and results for everyone varies, so just get moving and be sure to keep your heart rate consistently up throughout your workouts!

To quote the great Albert Einstein, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
