Whether you are running out the door for the kids or work, in need of post-workout nutritious snacks, or simply bored of your go-to munchies and wanting something new — we've got you covered.
Check out these simple and tasty morsels that are both nutritious and super easy to just grab and go!
1. Hard-boiled Egg
Keep some of these bad boys in the fridge and when your peckish pop one in a zip lock bag or a bowl and sprinkle with salt, pepper and a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.
2. Rice Cakes and Avocado
Smash some avocado and a few sprinkles of salt and pepper on to a rice cake – great for that extra Omega boost.
3. Bag o’ Nuts
Simple, tried and true, and also something you can vary daily. Grab separate bags of nuts next time you go grocery shopping and make your own mix daily to keep by your side.
4. Raw Baby Spinach
Simply eat ‘em like chips. Yum! Yes you could add dried cranberries, or dress it if you want, but it’s also scrummy all by its self.
5. Kale Wraps
It's like lettuce wraps but stronger (so less mess). Mix up some tuna, capers, dill and Greek yogurt to keep in the fridge. Scoop it into a massaged kale leaf next time you have a hankering for a snack.
(Add the capers to cut through any bitterness left in the kale water it has been massaged in warm water, you can also replace them with olives or a little salt.)
6. Straight Up Avo and ACV
Cut an avocado in half and remove the pit. Cut checkers into the fruit and massage the skin with the palm of your hand to loosen it all up. Add 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and let it swim between the cracks. Then gobble it up!
7. Tofu-Turmeric Pancakes
Make a stack of tofu and turmeric pancakes by blending these two ingredients together with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Keep them wrapped up in the fridge and grab one and wrap it around your favorite raw vegetable when the hunger monkey knocks.
8. Coconut Trail Mix
Shaved coconut bits, dark chocolate chips, walnuts and pine nuts all mixed up together. It’s a bitter, salty, sweet delicious treat and a dash of cayenne pepper to spice things up!
9. Dark Chocolate + Oats
Warm a handful of oats and dark chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons of nut butter and a splash of milk. Mix well as they melt (3 minutes-ish) then scoop spoonfuls in to little wads on wax paper.
Keep in the fridge to harden and grab them as you’re ready to snack!
10. Cucumber and Cilantro Dippers
Keep some well-blended Greek yogurt, cucumber and cilantro in the fridge and dip baby carrots, celery or your favorite crackers in it when you need a quick bite.
11. Banana and Almond Butter
Smash these two together in a cup or bowl and tuck in. Pssh, who needs that smoothie maker?
12. Couscous!
Mix cooked couscous with chopped olives, parsley, cherry tomatoes, and cucumber into a bowl and squeeze the juice of half a lemon over it all to keep it fresh. Store in the fridge and snack on it for 2 days.
