“Hey, I don’t have any sisters, so it doesn’t occur to me how insanely offensive this is!” is something that pretty much no guy ever says when shouting at women on the street—unless they’re in BuzzFeedYellow’s new video mocking catcallers.
It’s funny, but like any other satirical piece, it also lends a touch of truth to it.
Obviously, not ALL women have experienced this phenomenon, but it’s familiar enough almost to be a cliché: construction workers whistling at the ladies, random dudes shouting vaguely sexual things…for some, this is a familiar part of everyday life. BuzzFeed has therefore decided to demystify the whole process and take it down a peg by showing us what these guys are really thinking (well, maybe).
Among their thoughts: insecurity, an awkward inability to stop talking, and the realization that no one would make pelvic movements like this in any other situation. Check out the hilariously self-conscious video and let us know what you think!
