Yoga Is For Everybody? Not Quite...

This 2-minute quiz shows you if yoga is for you. Or what you should do instead.

Forget Your New Year’s Resolutions, Stick to Simple Intentions

So you thought you practice every day, meditate every day, become a vegan all before January 31st? Did you fall off the wagon January 2nd?

It’s okay, you are not alone. It happens to all of us. I have a solution on how to keep your resolutions: Don’t. Make. Any.

I’m serious, why set yourself up for all that disappointment and self-defeat? If you really wanted to do these things, you would just do it.

So I figured out a way to be successful with New Year’s Resolutions, just make intentions instead, and do one every single day. Just completing one task at a time, one day at a time, makes for a successful commitment. The easiest way to commit to something is to keep it simple. Why not set an intention to be better and to do better. Just make a commitment to do anything better.

Wake up each morning and set intention. Honor yourself and set a goal, just one day at a time. You can do it. Here are some examples:

  • Today I intend to do 10 minutes of yoga and then do it.
  • Today I intend to drink 2 glasses of water and then do it.
  • Today I intend to smile, and then smile.

See, you can do it. Just keep it super simple and build on it, the next day and the next day. You can work up to 15 minutes of yoga a day, or 4 classes of yoga a day and a smile every day! I know, these simple intentions may not sound as "great" as the big lifestyle improvements of people's new year's resolutions. But in a few weeks' time, you'll see that the baby steps you take with your intentions will be far more effective in bringing about the "big changes" that you want.
